Acquisition Strengthens the Position of Agrar Systems Emmeloord and DT Dijkstra in the Agricultural Market
Emmeloord, March 24, 2025
Rumaad, owner of machine factory DT Dijkstra in Emmeloord, acquired Agrar Systems from Emmeloord on March 21. According to CEO Marcel Ruesink, this strategic acquisition strengthens the position of Agrar Systems and DT Dijkstra within the agricultural sector, creating new opportunities for growth, innovation, and collaboration.
DT Dijkstra is a leading manufacturer of sorting and cleaning machines and provides logistical solutions for the industrial agricultural sector, particularly focused on potatoes, onions, and carrots. With a strong focus on innovation and customization, DT Dijkstra delivers high-quality turnkey projects to customers worldwide. The company currently employs 55 people and is known for its quality and reliable technology.
Agrar Systems specializes in the supply of post-harvest machinery and systems for processing agricultural products, both domestically and internationally. With a broad product range, Agrar Systems offers efficient and sustainable solutions for farmers and businesses in the food processing industry, as well as for commodity handling in ports. The current product portfolio includes storage lines, weighing and packaging machines, sorting machines, sewing lines, and palletizing machines. The company has 10 employees and will continue offering its trusted product range, with plans for expansion in the near future.
Marcel Ruesink, CEO of DT Dijkstra and Agrar Systems, emphasizes that while the companies will continue to operate independently, the acquisition brings valuable strategic advantages. “With this acquisition, we strengthen our presence in the agricultural sector and enhance our ability to respond to the evolving needs of the market and our customers. At the same time, DT Dijkstra and Agrar Systems will maintain their own identities and continue to follow their own course. This collaboration provides an opportunity to share knowledge and experience, ultimately benefiting our customers,” says Ruesink.
Commercial efforts will also be combined. Harco Christiaens, responsible for Sales and Service at DT Dijkstra, will work closely with Henk Wiertsema, Sales Director of Agrar Systems, to further position and expand the product range of Agrar Systems. “This collaboration and expansion will strengthen Agrar Systems commercial impact and further establish its products and services in the market,” says Christiaens.
Former Agrar Systems owner Han Kemperink expects that the collaboration with DT Dijkstra will create many new opportunities and that the potential of Agrar Systems will be fully utilized through the acquisition. Key focus areas remain distinctive service and customer-oriented operations.
“With this acquisition, we can better respond to the evolving needs of the market and our customers. We look forward to creating even more value for our customers and partners both domestically and internationally,” Ruesink adds.
